Early yesterday morning, Monica and I were chatting about the day and beginning to work when we heard it. Yep, pretty sure that was a turkey call. Coming from down the hall, in a proper real estate office. Jeremy is in the building!
A couple weeks ago, I noticed a new sign on an agent's door advertising ice baths for a dollar. Prepaid only. No refunds. Shane keeps us laughing.
From time to time a cheery female voice calls out as the front door chimes. The voice says, "Hellooooo!" I used to hurry from wherever I might be in the building to greet our guest! Nope. That's just Jared. He got me again. Now when the door chimes or someone calls out a greeting, I ignore it completely. Probably just Jared. Usually, I'm right. . .
And, in case you were not aware, our chief prankster is our fearless admin . . . who will be nameless. I won't tell you those stories today but when I do, true TEARS will roll down your face! Mercy, she is FUNNY! She brings sustenance regularly to be sure our "rainmakers" have their "Recommended Daily Allowance" of cookies and whatnot. If you don't have something lovely to nibble on whilst having your coffee, it's on you because she always has something in the Mobile office kitchen.
We work at least as hard as we play! We believe our relationships matter whether it's agent to client or agent to agent. We remember we're on the same team and serving is our middle name.
If you're not in the office, you may not know we think we're pretty funny people! We're really happy to be here working and doing life together and if we were not, we'd figure out a way to change the atmosphere. When we come to work in the office, we find our motivation to achieve is different. We find we're inspired and our heads are in the game more often than not. Our energy is better. Our consistency is on point with dollar productive activities. We're not aimlessly busy with little to show for it. Connections matters. Schedules matter. Goals are just dreams if we don't put actionable items in place. Nevermind what you want -- what are you doing about it?
If you're a little off from the goals you set for this year, I strongly encourage you to GO TO WORK! Go to your office! I bet you guys are having as much fun as we are and inspiring each other but if you're not, do a little experiment for 30 days: Spend a little time every week in the office talking to your colleagues. Observe the closed office doors of agents on the phone, notice the agents in community spaces with their faces in their laptops, writing notes to their clients, scheduling social media posts, updating their CRM's so they can send Lolo, football calendars, newsletters and other communications so they get the call when a past client needs their services. Let it all inspire you to reach your goals this year. You can still do it! Remember, you're only top of mind if you make yourself top of mind. Stay in relationship with people you've served in the past or don't expect your phone to be the one ringing when they're ready to buy or sell again. Earn business as you enjoy relationships.
In the past 18 months, a warm body could have made money in our business (and many did). Now is the time for professionals to arise, earn trust and practice what you know about building and growing your business. You're here for the long haul; real estate is your career so REGISTER for the Ninja Installation coming January 9-12. Do it while there's still a $300 discount; sow into your own business and into your own success. Full disclosure: I registered the day registration opened. #ticktock
Make sure you're living and laughing together regularly! It sure helps to have a best friend at work on bumpy days and someone to celebrate with on great days. We don't know about you guys but we're so grateful we've found our home away from home right here in our Bellator office.
Larry Winget said, "Find your uniqueness and exploit it in the service of others."
Now, I'm not saying my team doesn't have other unique gifts and talents. . . but I am saying their gift for bringing the funny and being colleagues in every sense of the word lights up our days! It doesn't hurt that they also faithfully serve their clients and each other. Find your uniqueness! Exploit it fully as you serve and grow. You are Bellator; you are somebody's champion.
