In a transitioning industry and in a somewhat challenging climate, be prepared to EMBRACE new ideas and new ways of doing things. The surest way to get left in the dust in this season is to cling stubbornly to the past, to "it's the way I've always done it!" way of thinking. I mean, if you like being a relic, go for it, but most of us will choose to embrace the suck and grow again.
Remember when you were a newly licensed agent, and the real estate world was fresh and new to you? You didn't know everything; you were such an eager learner. GO BACK THERE – in your mind and heart, and in your activities.
SURROUND yourself with professionals who speak positively. When I say, "surround" yourself, I mean that quite literally. At least for a while, you may need to eliminate anybody from your professional close circle who needs to stay stuck in the past with a fear-based perspective. We have nothing to be afraid of and everything to look forward to as our industry morphs once again! You've heard Bellator leaders who've been in this business for decades recount true stories of other times when agents had to change how we do things; this season is no different. There were then and there are now unknowns. In every season, resilient agents have gotten together and figured it out, for themselves and for their clients & customers, with good results on all sides.
BE PEACEFUL and while you're at it, BE PEACE-GIVING. Choose it. You're not doing yourself or your people any good when you let your emotions take over and entertain anxiety over things you cannot control. Be kind. Take care of what you can and let the rest go. Slow down in your head long enough to breathe and listen to what people you trust are saying. I promise you this: Bellator will guide you as we adventure on together, so engage in the process on a high level. We will continue to put the needs of our clients and customers first. We will continue working with the highest integrity, energy, and focus, as we have always done.
