I've gotta be honest; when I first heard that line a few months ago, I wanted to disagree strongly. "No one is coming." It was in an Ed Mylett podcast. He was discussing winning in life past a certain level of success. As I quietly pondered what he'd said, I knew in my heart that he was right. I'm a nurturer. I like helping people and things grow. Hearing that "no one is coming" rubs right up against everything I hold dear; however, I also know that there are people I can't help because they're not ready. I know that, past a certain point, growth and success only happens because an individual decides to take action. One day you'll wake up and realize it's true: NO ONE IS COMING. If you want to win, in life and in business, you'll have to show up and do what it takes. It's on you. Period.
Do you need more balance?
You'll have to build it into your day. It might mean you get out of bed earlier than your friends and family Monday through Friday and establish strong morning routines. One of my family members asked recently why I start my day at 4:30am when I don't have to be in the office until 8:00am. It's simple: I have goals and priorities that move me. Literally.
Do you need encouragement?
You'll have to go get it. Podcasts and books (I love Audible) are the #1 way I'm motivated & growing, and they are a steady part of my morning routine. Equally important are the people with whom I surround myself. Some of you encourage me to live healthy, some make me laugh and some to think deeper. If I didn't intentionally spend time every week with you, think of the wealth of encouragement I'd miss! Go get your happiness, wellness, business advice & wisdom.
Do you need coaching?
Here's a better question: are you coachable? The game is won or lost in your head so decide how you want to play it. A lot of people are talented and smart and many of them never really succeed. Your charisma will only take you so far and then you'll need to learn so you can continue to grow. What are you waiting for? A philosopher said, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." Go find your coach. Connect to a mentor. It's time.
Recharge.
Reboot.
Don't quit.
Fix what's broken so you can build what's possible.
In my experience, NO ONE IS COMING until you're ready to make a move and then resources will surround you. The energy of your life will create your reality. Go get what you need in the coming year. Build what's possible.
