The constant chatter surrounding the volatility of interest rates, increased days on market and whatnot, has more than a few of us concerned about what lies ahead. Vendors we hadn't seen in quite a while are now beating down our doors to get into a sales meeting and speak to agents. Plenty of sellers still want to sell high and some buyers are scared of changing rates.
You know the issues; I want to remind you of the solutions.
- Get back to basics. What are the basics for a Ninja?
- Pay attention to your mindset: Practice gratitude first thing in the morning & throughout the day. Remember that your brain & your spirit need to hear you say positive, wonderful things OUT LOUD. Don't just think grateful thoughts; SAY grateful things.
- Hone your skillset: Perfect both the buyer and seller processes. Have you used the Bellator marketing tool, PRESENT, in a listing presentation? It's simple to use and a powerful tool. You probably have time now to update your buyer presentation as well. Take Nike's advice: Just do it. Time-block both. Do it now.
- Show up to WORK. How do you stay motivated and end procrastination?
- Schedule time IN YOUR OFFICE. There's a certain magic that happens when you spend time with people who are in the game with you. I've never seen it fail. Need more business? Go to work – in your office. Need to up your game? Talk to your colleagues.
- Ask someone you trust at work to be your accountability partner. Keep it fun; be real and consistent.
- Calendar appointments with yourself. What work tasks have you been putting off? Would you no-show a listing appointment or a buyer consultation? The time you set aside to work on your business is just as critical as the appointments you keep with customers and clients.
- Write down the 3 work tasks you've put off that come immediately to mind.
- Decide how much time you need for each one.
- Put them into your calendar. Do it now.
- Still struggling? Find yourself making excuses? Try this: instead of saying, "I don't have time to. . .", replace that thought with, "… is not a priority." Be honest with yourself about your priorities.
When you have a system and consistently work it, you'll be aware of market fluctuations but they won't freak you out. You will control your emotional energy. You are a leader; the proactive, trusted advisor of your clients and customers and that does not change with the market.
