I haven't always been consistent to make the calls necessary to stay in touch with my sphere. A few times I've neglected calling for long enough that it felt awkward to pick up the phone and get it done . . .

Notecards are easy, right? The goal is just T W O handwritten notecards a day, written and mailed to people in my CRM! I've got it! Most of the time . . .

The recent changes in our industry took most of us a little off course but the dust is settling, and we have to get back on track. It's time to get back to business.

TWO MORNINGS A WEEK

  • Spend one hour calling the people in your CRM.
  • Get an accountability partner and make sure it's somebody who won't let you off the hook. Put some consequences in place if you don't follow through.
  • Though you may feel awkward or uneasy to call people you haven't spoken to in a while, you'll find they're always glad to hear from you. You may even stir up some business!
  • Revisit your WHY. It will stir up your motivation.

TWO NOTECARDS A DAY

  • Don't overcomplicate it; simply work your way down your CRM writing notecards. Do it alphabetically or write to the clients you closed with last year. Whatever your system – just do it.
  • Connect your note-writing to something you enjoy like having a cup of coffee as soon as you get to your desk in the morning with whatever music moves you playing in the background. Make it part of your morning ritual.
  • Make your notes personal when you can, but don't make them long. Don't stress if you need to send a few that are a little more generic. You've thought about them; they'll get it.

TWO CONNECTIONS A MONTH

  • Networking is important so make it count.
  • Find a committee at the board and be an engaged part of it. Serve.
  • Be an active, positive part of your church or your child's school or whatever makes sense for you. This should be an extension of your real life; be the go-to REALTOR® in your circles.

THE CHALLENGE
Wisdom recognizes we were designed to connect with people and to live in community. Some of us are asking what we should be doing and that's a huge part of our success but perhaps we should also be asking with whom we should be doing it. There's something about connecting in community that benefits you and those with whom you are connected. Sometimes it's easiest to skip being in rooms that could be pivotal to your business life and your internal life but let me encourage you: you can do things that feel hard in the beginning. (You'll eventually love it.) The people with whom you regularly associate will be a significant part of your success and you'll get there more quickly. #ticktock

At Bellator, we are flush with incredible, experienced people who are committed to helping you get to your goals. In this collaborative community of caring professionals, you can flourish and grow but it is up to you to show up. If you accept the challenge, it will be worth the effort. I promise.

Getting back to business isn't complicated but it will feel complicated if you procrastinate.  You'll find your anxieties lessen, your joys increase and the flow of business is more consistent when you create and work daily, weekly, and monthly plans in community.

Get back to business. Do it today.
