First, I want to thank Terryl for providing an excellent gratitude reminder in last week's Broker Bit! We have control of our income without increasing our effort. All we must do is be confident in our value proposition and our worth as a REALTOR®.

Gratitude is not just a feel – good practice to help you get through the day! There is real power of Gratitude in Real Estate. The power of gratitude is tied to personal and business development. I hope you had a great and safe Holiday Season and are ready for the New Year because it is HERE!

A new year is like a new chapter of your business. It feels like a brand-new start, a chance to reset, refocus and take control of what's ahead in your business. A new year is not just about setting new goals or having resolutions; it's about changing how you think and approach your business.

Your mindset is the only thing you control 100% of the time. Your mindset has the power to shape everything… how you handle your business, your clients, your money, your confidence and even how you handle challenges. When you start a new year with a positive mindset, you lay the foundation for new and exciting growth personally and professionally.

STOP TALKING ABOUT DOING...

A client can be a seller or a buyer and has a contractual agreement with us (agency), which is also called a fiduciary duty.

Fiduciary duties are the highest duties known to law. Common examples of fiduciaries outside our profession include trustees, executors, and guardians. Our fiduciary duties are governed by law, requiring us to uphold specific duties to our clients, in addition to any obligations set forth in a listing agreement or other contractual agreements.

Our fiduciary duties include:

I continue to hear "fear" or "anxiety" from REALTORS® about the upcoming changes in our industry as it relates to the NAR lawsuit and changes in our profession.

As I have mentioned before, this is not the first change in our profession that has created fear or anxiety, and it will not be the last. I am not one to offer unsolicited advice, but I will share my mindset with you about change and I hope it will help you as we approach August 17, 2024.

Confidence in any situation is key, especially related to change.

Accept your fear and anxiety. If this is what you're feeling, just embrace it and know these feelings are valid and are part of the process. Embracing change is learning how you feel about the change. It's OK . . . just go ahead and embrace it. You have fear and anxiety . . . now you're done.
