This past Tuesday, our NINJA Mindset Session was about the Power of Gratitude & Affirmations which is always a positive session, but following Memorial Day, it was even more positive with rewarding discussions which prompted me to change my Broker Bit for this week.
Gratitude is something we all take for granted at times due to all the noise in our daily lives. As individuals and as a company, we are fortunate to have this topic come up daily thanks to our leadership team and the mission of our company. I took "Gratitude" for granted until I was presented the opportunity to work at Bellator. I learned very early, as probably most of you, that every meeting is started with Gratitude's. I remember thinking, "Why haven't I ever started each day with gratitude?" It is easy to get busy with our daily tasks and challenges and lose focus o...

First, I want to thank Kate Irvine for her recent post making us all aware of a possible safety concern. Kate's concern and awareness is the perfect example of what I have always said: "Listen to your gut and proceed with extreme caution." YAPMO validated its importance to me once again when Kate made her post. I encourage you to always share safety concerns to promote awareness of a situation. Kate's post gave everyone immediate notice to be aware! (Thank you, Kate!)
Unless you are new to the company, or do not read the "Broker Bit" each week, you will know that I am always concerned for YOUR safety.
As awesome as our profession is, it is the only one that I am aware of that can put you solo with a total stranger in your car, in an empty home/condo or in an i...

An "influencer" is a person who inspires the actions of others.
Most, if not all, successful REALTORS® inspire the actions of others every day.
REALTORS® have been influencers since the day our profession was created.
So how does a REALTOR® make money influencing? The answer is very simple… Communicating with your data base effectively and consistently. Effective communication will influence those that already know you, and they will become another source of business in the form of referrals.
What YOU focus on expands! Does that sound familiar? When you influence effectively and consistently to those that already know you, your business will expand through referrals.
When you influence your data base effectively and consistently, they become advocates for your business. They start working for you and are confident based on the relationsh...

"Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Mindset determines how well you do it." – Lou Holtz
Coach Holtz did not just come up with this quote. This was derived from years of experience with life and coaching. We are all "capable". "Motivation" always drives us. "Mindset" always determines how well we stay focused.
Here is a statistic that blew my mind…
It is obvious that the lack of motivation is the driving force for any goal failing.
Whether you just went through an incredible and enthusiastic NINJA installation or you just completed your 2023 business plan, if we don't stay motivated and engaged with our goals, we are setting ourselves up...

This Broker Bit starts out with more advice from my father.
"Finish what you started, or no-one will believe in you," and "If you fail to prepare, then prepare to fail."
In typical fashion, his advice was brutally honest, clear, and valid. I have learned to use this advice for properly "finishing" a year and "preparing" for a new year.
In the past for me, other than the actual date/year change, there was not a clean finish to the current year and preparation of the new. I was in 'cruise control' mode from Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Year's Eve and then BAM, it's the new year (Happy New Year)! It was clear that I was not finishing the year properly, nor was I properly prepared to start the new year. I needed to define the "finish" of the current year and the "preparation" for the new year to get off the last 45 days of the year in 'crui...
