The constant chatter surrounding the volatility of interest rates, increased days on market and whatnot, has more than a few of us concerned about what lies ahead. Vendors we hadn't seen in quite a while are now beating down our doors to get into a sales meeting and speak to agents. Plenty of sellers still want to sell high and some buyers are scared of changing rates.

You know the issues; I want to remind you of the solutions.

  1. Get back to basics. What are the basics for a Ninja?
  • Pay attention to your mindset: Practice gratitude first thing in the morning & throughout the day. Remember that your brain & your spirit need to hear you say positive, wonderful things OUT LOUD. Don't just think grateful thoughts; SAY grateful things.
  • Hone your skillset: Perfect both the buyer and seller processes. Have you used the B...

This was Daily Alignment from Monday below (if you are not signed up to receive these daily empowering messages from 68Ventures in your Bellator email account, please email info@gobellator.com so we can get you on the list!). I want to put Monday's out there again, because it is so powerful.

I say "I don't have time" far too often. I bet you do too. This time of year, in this type of market, is THE perfect to develop the habits of being mindful of your thoughts, saying NO to things and taking control over your schedule. Be honest with yourself, are you doing what you need to do? Or, what you want to do? That kind of honesty is uncomfortable, but worth it.

For those that know me, they will tell you that I am all about "Safety first", everything else is second! As GREAT as our profession is, it is the only one that I am aware of that can put you solo with a total stranger in your car, in an empty home or condo, or in an isolated area without thinking anything negative. It is very normal for us to get a call, email or text from a total stranger and agree to meet them wherever they want to meet regardless of the time of day. If this was not work/commission related, we would NEVER consider meeting a total stranger anywhere. We tell our kids "Stranger – Danger," but we do not live by our own advice when it is related to a commission opportunity.

In this day and time, you cannot be too safe! You should ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings and alert!

It is very easy to get complacent and comfortable in our business because...

In 2011, the Alabama State Legislature established the Strengthen Alabama Homes Act. The Strengthen Alabama Homes (SAH) program provides grants (when funds are available) to Alabama residents for residential wind mitigation on existing, owner occupied, single family homes. Funding for this program comes from the insurance industry in Alabama and is not funded from the state's general budget, nor is it tied to a federally funded program. Many of you are probably aware of this program that provides a grant up to $10,000 towards the cost of mitigation or roof replacement to bring the property to FORTIFIED or Silver Standard.

A client of mine recently contacted me to tell me that he is going through the SAH program, and the new FORTIFIED roof is being installed this month. The SAH program is paying his contractor $10,000 towards the cost of the roof replacement. The thou...
